Rejuvenation Wall Light Sale

Tuesday, September 24, 2013

Here's a PSA folks - Rejuvenation is having a sale on their gorgeous wall lights. I love their classic selection of lights, and I love that you can get them in many different finishes, and often your choice of light shades.

I've been thinking about a new wall light for my kitchen, replacing the sconces in our hall bath, and adding sconces to Lou's big girl room (sniff). I also want to replace our outdoor lights. I need to take advantage of this sale, right?

It's for a limited time. Stress!

Finds: Ikea's Alex

Wednesday, September 11, 2013

I joined pinterest a while ago - maybe three years ago? - when it was still in Beta mode. I was invited to join for my old blog, but I primarily used it to organize ideas for the house renovation we were undergoing at the time. This means I have a lot of old pictures, and followers who enjoy renovating. It's always interesting to me to see what people are re-pinning from my collection, and it's especially fun to see an old picture resurface.

This week, a bunch of people randomly re-pinned a picture I collected a couple years ago of the Ikea Alex. It was a timely reminder because organization is on my mind. We are moving my daughter into her big girl room, currently our office/guest room/collection room, and I need to figure out what to do with all the stuff.

The Alex seems like a good way to organize papers, artwork, and other documents, and a lot of people have done so in a stylish way. I might need to go to Ikea sometime soon...

Finds: Keep.com

Monday, September 9, 2013

Are you guys on Keep.com? I love it. It's quickly consuming more time than Pinterest. Don't get me wrong, I still love Pinterest, but Keep is a good way to separate inspiration photos from shopping finds. My inspiration photos and recipes stay on Pinterest, but my shopping wants are on Keep. More ways to stay organized? Sign me up!

It's a lot like Pinterest in that you have boards to keep your themed items. I have several boards - accessories, attire, children's clothing, chairs, toys, etc. If you are renovating, I can see this as a good way to keep track of tile or doors or any other purchases you need to make.

Here are some of the things I've "Kept" lately.

Follow me if you are on Keep or decide to join!

All pictures are on my Keep.

Finds: The Loaded Trunk

Sunday, September 1, 2013

The Loaded Trunk is one of my favorite sources for unique items. Roni, the owner of The Loaded Trunk, works with a tremendous network of global artists and craftsman to locate her great items. The artisans either make the item specifically for The Loaded Trunk, or she buys it form a local market.

She sells many of the textiles that are so popular right now - suzanis, kilims, tenangos - but she also stocks unique items that you might not find elsewhere.

Cool collection, huh? This doesn't even skim the surface! It's a great resource for finding unique treasures for your home.

Finds: Kerry Steele Fabrics

Thursday, August 29, 2013

Like so many of you, I'm sure, I love chinoiserie. I am an avid reader of blogs like Chinoiserie Chic and The Pink Pagoda, where I read about the artist Kerry Steele. She's been featured on both blogs many times. Kerry is a self-taught artist with a wonderful sense of color and movement.

I love her fabrics on Spoonflower as much as I love her paintings. I stumbled across them when looking for fabric for a tablecloth at my daughter's second birthday party. Happy accident. Kerry uses pattern in a fun, unexpected way.

This one might be my favorite. Look closely, those are tiny pagoda polka dots!  I love that!

These fabrics might make an appearance in Perry Wade's projects soon, maybe even for a special little project close to home!

Check out Kerry's website for her portfolio and works, and visit Spoonflower for her fabrics.

Finds: Arte et Manufacture

Wednesday, August 28, 2013

I have a love affair with ceramics. I also love anything blue and white (and anything green, but that's a different post). I nearly fell out of my chair when I came across Arte et Manufacture on Etsy. Unique ceramics with a gorgeous blue and white pattern? Yes, please. Each piece is made by Edith, a potter based in Canada.

The handmade plates would make a beautiful group display behind a breakfast nook settee.

Much like these plate gallery walls:

Any of the pieces, especially the tarte plate, espresso cups, and the oil and vinegar vessels, would make excellent gifts. These might make their way to a few weddings I have coming up this fall.

All photos are on my Pinterest (I've even created a new Ceramics and Pottery board), or on the Arte et Manufacture site.

Finds: Bitsy Blossom Baby Shoes

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

Cute soft-soled shoes for babies who are learning to walk are hard to find. Cute baby shoes are hard to find in general, I think. Well, I did some searching on Etsy and I found these adorable shoes by Bitsy Blossom.

I almost jumped out of my chair with excitement. So stinking cute

Finds: A Pinch of Lovely

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

I love when you come across a new designer or artist, don't you? A Pinch of Lovely is, well, lovely. I came across the bridal party brunch invitation pictured below on Pinterest and immediately followed the photo link to her blog.

Krystal Bennett is a very talented designer creating gorgeous custom-made invitations. These aren't just any invitations, these are invitations you will want to keep on your refrigerators long after the event takes place. She brings out the personality of the event, involving you in the entire process for everything from fonts to envelopes. Of course, you can also rely on her expertise and good taste.

Take a look at some of her creations:

Her blog is a fun read too. I'm definitely commissioning some invitations from her for some upcoming parties.

Finds: Bridal Hair Combs

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

How gorgeous are these bridal hair combs? They are perfect for a spring bride. I'm already wed, but I want to figure out a reason to wear one of these combs because they are so beautiful. Made by Alona Freeman.

Finds: Spring Break

Monday, March 12, 2012

Ahh, spring. This weekend was the first time I could confidently say that spring was coming. Even with the mild season, it felt like winter just kept holding on.

We spent much of the weekend outside - playing on a quilt in the backyard, taking the baby for afternoon cocktail strolls (the cup holder isn't quite strong enough to hold a full beer though...), eating brunch outside. It was lovely.

I don't often miss school, but this time of year has me longing for a spring break vacation. I just need getaways after enduring winter, you know? Not in the cards this year. If we were heading south for a spring vacation, here is what I would pack.

Finds: Little Lady Dress

Thursday, March 8, 2012

Would it be aggressive to buy this dress in a size that is two sizes away? Hmmm. I think not. It's perfect, after all.
